Our Mission

Mintl’s sole mission is to drastically reduce the use of single-use plastic dental flossing products. Millions of people are accustomed to the ease that comes along with using single-use disposable flosser picks but recognize how much plastic waste they create when throwing out each flosser after just one use. We proudly provide our customers with a much more sustainable and environmentally-friendly method for keeping teeth clean and healthy by offering the world’s first permanent, fully reusable, AND recyclable flosser.

After seeing so many single-use flossers thrown on sidewalks, streets, and even in waterways, we knew it was time for a change. Every Mintl flosser that is purchased prevents more than 365 single-use plastic flosser products from ending up in landfills, in our neighborhoods, and most importantly, in nature. Mintl is a small U.S.-based business with grand dreams of helping the world. In order to do so, we will focus on assisting as many people in their transition from disposable, single-use products over to our reusable, recyclable alternative. In the spirit of environmental impact awareness, the vast majority of our revenues will continue to go towards the research and development of better, more sustainable products, packaging, and processes. Every aspect of our business operations, device production, and process has been internally audited to ensure that each area is optimized for achieving this goal while having the smallest environmental impact possible.

Origin Story

It started with a simple but frustrating observation—disposable floss picks were everywhere. Scattered across sidewalks, parking lots, hiking trails, and even floating in waterways, they had become “the new cigarette butt.” No matter where we lived—city streets, quiet suburbs, or rural backroads—the problem was the same everywhere. We noticed many scenes like the one pictured on this page.

We knew flossing was important, but did convenience and ease of use have to come at the cost of so much plastic waste? Determined to find a better way, we set out to create a solution that was both effective and sustainable. The result? A reusable dental flosser that reduces plastic waste by more than 96%—a small but meaningful step toward a cleaner world.

Because good habits shouldn’t come at the expense of the planet.
